Get away to sunny San Diego!
If you’ve ever visited the beautiful seaside city of San Diego, just hearing the name may trigger you to relax a bit or even smile a little brighter. The sunshine, beaches, palm trees, and that perfect 72 degree year-round weather are just a few of the reasons that make San Diego so special. You could almost feel the sea breeze and smell the ocean air! For me, San Diego holds a very special place in my heart…it is the first place that I moved after graduating from college, where I met Vince at good old Abercrombie & Fitch in Fashion Valley, and of course, where we said “I Do.” Last April, we took trip to San Diego to visit family, see some friends, and enjoy all of the things we love about this great town. Today, I’m sharing our hip lodging, amazing restaurants, wonderful activities, and of course, the items that I packed. If you haven’t already visited San Diego, I definitely recommend it!
Where we adults stayed (kids stayed with grandma & grandpa)…
Vince and I stayed at The Dutra Inn, which is the coolest little hotel in San Diego. Located in the heart of Little Italy, this 5 room mini-inn gives you everything you need for a fantastic urban retreat. From the high quality linens and perfect mini kitchen, to the welcome cocktail and balcony overlooking the bustle of downtown, this place was absolutely perfect. It also has an awesome private rooftop patio with skyline views that is open to guests. We truly loved our stay and plan on going back in the near future!

And just like that, our baby boy finished eighth grade and is headed off to high school.
It feels like yesterday we were holding him as a baby, playing trains on the floor, watching him push his little lawn mower on evening walks, teaching him to ride a bike, and slowly letting him spread his wings with neighborhood adventures and afternoons with friends. Somewhere along the way, that little boy became a young man.
We are so excited for this next chapter and all that’s ahead for him… but if we’re being honest, it’s a little bittersweet too. 🤍

Cheered loud, picked favorites, and then watched the underdog steal the show 👏
Ended the night out on the patio, talking, laughing, and pretending we know anything about horse racing.
