Christmas Decor and Family Time!

I absolutely love this time of year! Putting up decorations, watching the children’s excitement for Santa, and celebrating the most important birthday of all time…Jesus’ birth.

If you know me, then you know that I love celebrating birthdays. I love the planning, the decorating, and most of all, taking the time to honor that special person. These are all reasons that I take great pride in my Christmas decorations and making this time of year very special for my family. This year, I wanted to go with a more natural look using green and gold color tones while mixing natural textures. We are so happy with how it turned out and have been enjoying the cheerfulness that it adds to our home. Here are some pieces that you can use for your home that work throughout the winter season and give you that warm Christmas feeling…

This year, we kicked off the holiday season with a fun family getaway to Santa Barbara, California. It is a gorgeous city filled with clement weather, blue skies, sunshine, and great eats, all splashed across the gorgeous backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. We did everything from bike rides on the boardwalk and exploring the wharf, to hiking and shopping by the ocean. It was incredibly relaxing and fun for the entire family. I would definitely recommend planning a trip like this prior to the craziness of the holidays. Here’s a peek at our fun pre-holiday adventures…

Now, as we’ve gotten started with the December countdown, I won’t pretend that Vince and I don’t have a ton of fun setting up Janice, our “Elf on the Shelf”. Each night has been a great adventure of creativity and laughs as we brainstorm the ridiculous mischief that Janice creates. Here are some easy ideas that you can do with your Elf…

Last on the list, we are finally DONE with all of our Christmas shopping! Here are some of the items we’ve gotten for family and friends…

Hopefully you’re enjoying this holiday season and able to take time for yourself, create special moments with your family, and pause to acknowledge the true meaning of this Christmas season.
