Who doesn’t love being organized? Organization makes life easier and with three kids, I’m all about “easy.” It provides a sense of calmness and peace in my heart, LOL.
Moving to Texas, I was so excited our new house had a playroom. Finally, a place where the kids can dump all their toys and I could shut the doors! I even told a friend of mine that I would never need to clean the playroom; it’s meant to be played in and a mess (I know you’re laughing at me!). Now I find myself, picking up toys and trying to keep it clean.
With three kids ranging from 6, 4, and 2, we have a wide variety of different toys. From Hot Wheels, trains, magna-tiles, legos, dolls, pretend play, and on and on and on! We knew we needed something that could contain a variety of toys. A friend referred me to the TROFAST system at Ikea, so we decided to head over to check it out. I immediately loved it! You can select your structure, the bins and even the color; plus the price was perfect. Now the kids can easily pull out a drawer to play and makes for an easy clean up.
Another kids activity we like to do in our household is color. We have a coloring session almost everyday. So with that comes lots of crayons, markers, coloring pencils, paper, coloring books, stencils and much more. Before, I used to just have it thrown in a drawer to which the kids could never find what they wanted without having me find it for them. When I began decorating our hallway/foyer, I knew I wanted a cabinet for a lamp and mirror. I decided to use the inside of the cabinet for the kids coloring supplies and it has been amazing! They now know exactly where to find their supplies and can get it out themselves. I decided to put the coloring books upright so they can see each one and separated the crayons/coloring pencils from the markers in bins. It’s definitely made our daily coloring sessions less chaotic and more fun!

I hope you find these organization tools helpful and can use them in your home.
