Family Photo Season: Outfit Options for Everyone!

It’s that time of year again…family photos! I think we all have mixed feelings about family photos, probably more like a love/hate relationship. We love being able to capture that precious moment in time with the family but then there’s reality of all the work that goes into organizing such an event; because lets be real, it is an “event.” Today, I’m sharing photographer recommendations, and outfit options for casual and holiday styles.

Selecting Your Photographer…

It all starts with finding the perfect photographer. You want beautiful pictures with many options but you don’t want to spend a fortune. In the beginning, be sure to communicate with your photographer. Discuss your desired look of the photos, how you plan on using the photos, and if you have a location preference.

If you’re in Houston, I highly recommend Joyful Sound Photography with Jessica Salas. As a mom of four, she understand the mayhem that goes into family photos. She’s patient, kind, and we truly enjoyed working with her. She’ll be sure to capture that perfect moment for you! Book a full session with her and mention “Rosy as can be” to receive 10% OFF!

Casual Outfit Options…

If you’re going for a more casual everyday look, select neutral tones that compliment colors within your home. That way, you can have them displayed all year round. Plus, they are great gifts for the grandparents during the holidays. I chose a mix of denims, a splash of yellow and a mix of prints. Even though they are all different, they balance and compliment each other. I am very happy with how they turned out and can’t wait to hang them in our home.

Holiday Outfit Options…

Adding a pop of holiday color such as red, is an easy way to change a neutral color scheme into the perfect holiday style. I first came across Rosie’s dress and was in love with the plaid and of course the tutu! It was an easy way to add color to the families existing pieces. I simply changed out Max’s shirt, added red ties, a blue button up for me with a red scarf and a darker blue tone button up for Vince. You could say it’s an updated version of a traditional Christmas style. Now, all I need to do is start working on my Christmas cards.
