We’re heading out on vacation in a couple of weeks and I’ve slowly begun an inventory check on all of my makeup items. If you haven’t noticed already, I’m kind of a type A, LOL. I like to have exactly what I need, when I need it while I’m on vacation, no more and no less. It’s actually pretty funny! I plan out each day and layout an outfit from head to toe; including accessories :). Vince loves it because then I’m never wondering what to wear that day or over-packing (well, most of the time). That being said, it can make the packing process just a touch insane.
So today, I’m starting my makeup bag. I’ve become a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury. Her cosmetics are amazing! Her products give you a flawless, airbrushed look while improving your skin. I’m also all about balance and like to try out different drugstore products. Some items are worth splurging on, while others you can definitely find at your local Target.
With that, here’s my makeup routine for a causal every day look…
1) I like to start by applying EltaMD UV Daily moisturizing sunscreen. It has a tinted shade which provides moisturizer and protects your skin.
2) I then apply Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. I never used primer before until reading the benefits. It acts like a blotting paper on your skin giving you a fresh, matte look.
3) Once the primer is dry, I then use a Real Techniques makeup sponge and apply Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation. When applying, do so in a blotting motion covering your entire face. Do not rub or brush the foundation on the skin. Blotting will provide more coverage.
4) Next, I use Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Away Concealer in the corners and under my eyes. Apply in a blotting motion and then use your makeup sponge in a blotting motion to blend.
5) To finish, use Charlotte Tilbury’s Setting Powder. I use a Real Techniques brush and apply in a dotting motion.
6) To add some color, I like to use a mix of Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze and Glow Contour Duo and Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer set. I apply this in an upward motion on my checks and the sides of my nose. Blend with a contour brush in a dotting motion.
7) Finally, I add a little color to my cheeks using either Charlotte Tilbury’s blush or Nars Dolce Vita.
8) For my eyebrows, I recently started using a mix of Maybelline Tattoo Studio brow tint pen and e.l.f. Instant Lift eyebrow pencil. I really like the easiness of the two and the price.
9) I love Charlotte Tilbury’s eyeshadow palettes. They’re numbered, giving you step by step instructions on how to apply and last all day long without creasing. Currently, I’ve been using Pillowtalk and Golden Goddess.
10) I then use Covergirl’s Exhibitionist Mascara in very black. I really love this mascara!
11) FINALLY to complete my every day look, I then apply Milani Color Statement lipstick in Pretty Natural. I use this when I’m in a hurry and need a little color. On days where I want a bolder look, I prefer to use LipSense as it lasts all day.
This might sound like a lot but honestly, it takes me between 10-15 minutes! Definitely take a peek at the products, I think you’ll really like them. Also, don’t miss out on the Nordstrom Sale starting this Friday! Check out my sneak peeks and shop the day of the sale in Shop My Instagram.
