Home Projects in Spring

It’s that time of the year where you venture out of the house and start evaluating the damage from the winter months. We inspect our gardens, check out the lawn, and see how we can spruce up the yard for the approaching warm months. At least this is what I do, lol; sitting outside in the warm sun, watching the kids play, and pondering my next home improvement projects. Today, I want to share with you a handful of projects that we recently did to the yard and are loving!

Patio Furniture

I recently shared with you on Instagram our new patio furniture. We are very pleased with it and love that we can enjoy meals outside on the dining table and chairs. The kids especially love the large rug and play jenga on it all the time.

Backyard Lighting

Now that daylight savings is in full effect and the sun is staying out later, we decided that we wanted to capture the ambiance and add some lighting to our yard. These are easy to use and they light up the entire yard!

Bring the outside in

I’ve also been wanting to add a screen door to our back door since the day we moved in! We finally pulled the trigger and installed this perfect retractable screen. Now I can cook dinner while the kids play outside, guests can mingle while outside or in, and we get to enjoy the nice Spring breeze through the house.

Front porch retreat

When we purchased this home, I was disappointed that there wasn’t an actual front porch. The kids love riding their bikes and playing in the cul-de-sac, so I knew that we had to come up with a plan to enjoy our front yard with the family. Our flower beds were quiet large, so I decided to take some of that space and create our very own front porch. To create the flooring, I selected stone from my local stone yard, used sand to make them level, and put pebbles between the stones. After buying a pair of adironack chairs, we were set!
