I’m all about simplicity and saving a couple dollars, so when I came across these very easy projects I had to share them with you.
My oldest started school almost 2 weeks ago, however, my youngest two won’t start until next week. I know many of you are in this same position and find yourself with littles ones saying similar things like, “why do they get to go and I don’t?” or “I don’t want them to go.” Then when my oldest gets home, all the kids are crazy! LOL They’ve missed each other all day and that first hour of everyone home, is madness! So I’ve established a routine where we have art time that first hour. I’ve learned coloring definitely calms them and allows them to do something together without the running around and screaming.
I found these super cute wood halloween masks in Bullseye’s Playground at Target for only a dollar. You can also find fun super hero masks on Amazon for a great price. Everyone had their own coloring station with markers and they had a blast! Something so simple turned the afternoon into a fun and memorable one!
Another very simple project I recently did was update my throw pillows on our couch. I love changing them out for the seasons and holidays; however, I find myself with a big pile of pillows to store. I had purchased two pillows at HomeGoods a month ago and was happy to find the cover was removable with a down pillow insert. I began searching for new covers but found majority were very pricey. Then I came across these on Amazon, checker plaid pillow. They are so affordable, come in lots of colors and prints and great quality. Now, I can have multiple throw pillows (I ordered the green plaid for Christmas) without braking the bank and any storage issues!
Be sure to measure your pillow inserts prior to ordering. These are 20×20 pillow covers and you get 2 for ONLY $14.99!
I hope you find these simple projects useful for you and your family! I know we’ve enjoyed them 🙂 Happy Pinterest Thursday!
XOXO,
